Born on February 1, 1943, son of Afranio Affonso Ferreira and Silvia Amoroso Lima Affonso Ferreira. Bachelor of Law Degree from the Pontif\u00edcia Universidade Cat\u00f3lica de S\u00e3o Paulo (PUC-SP).
\nHe worked for Professor Jos\u00e9 Frederico Marques, and later became a partner of Professor Marques. He joined Dr. Jos\u00e9 Rubens Machado de Campos at Ferreira e Campos Lawyers and worked at this law firm until he founded Manuel Alceu Affonso Ferreira Lawyers \u2013 the former corporate name of Affonso Ferreira Lawyers \u2013 of which he is a shareholding partner. Representing the S\u00e3o Paulo Section, he was a member of the Federal and State Councils (2 tenures) of the Brazilian Bar Association. He was also a member of the S\u00e3o Paulo Lawyers Association \u2013 AASP. He was Associate Professor in Civil Procedure Law at PUC-SP, Secretary of State for Justice (1991\/1993), Tenured Judge of the Regional Election Court of S\u00e3o Paulo (2 tenures), and alternate member of the Social Communication Council, the auxiliary body of the Federal Senate. As representative of the Brazilian Bar Association, he participated in the Competition Commissions for admission to the State Bench, the Federal Bench and the Public Prosecution Office of S\u00e3o Paulo. He is a member of the City of S\u00e3o Paulo Academy of Law, of the Brazilian Institute of Public Law \u2013 IBDP, of the Brazilian Institute of Election Law \u2013 IBDE, of the Defense Law Defense Institute \u2013 IDDD and of the Pro Bono Institute. In addition, he is a member of the Deliberative Council of the Institute of Lawyers of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 IASP, of the Superior Council of Juridical and Legislative Affairs of the Federation of Industries of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 FIESP and of the Center for Strategic and Advanced Studies of the Center of Industries of the State of S\u00e3o Paulo \u2013 CIESP. He is holder of the following distinguished awards: M\u00e9rito Judici\u00e1rio, of the Upper Court of Justice of S\u00e3o Paulo, and Minister Pedro Lessa, of the Federal Regional Court of the 3rd Region and the City of S\u00e3o Paulo Military Court of Justice.
